Princes Town to Mayaro Highway

The Princes Town to Mayaro Highway Project forms part of the proposed highway from San Fernando to Mayaro in southern Trinidad. This four lane freeway will be an important new link in the Trunk Road system and may become a toll road, depending on decisions yet to be made by the Government of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago. It will provide efficient links between major economic growth areas and regional markets, increase economic activities, reduce transportation costs, and relieve traffic congestion along the existing Naparima Mayaro Road.

The major characteristics of the project are the following:

Total length:                       43 km

Cross-section:                    2 x 2 lanes

Interchanges:                      6

River Bridges:                     5

Grade separations
